Valentine’s Day used to feel simple.
Pink. Red. Sweet treats. Little dresses. Photos.
But since 2019, this day has carried deeper meaning for me.
On Valentine’s Day that year, a little 2½-year-old boy named Jaxon went to heaven.
And when a child that young leaves this world, it changes how you see everything.

💔 Love Is Not Small
There is something about losing someone so young that reshapes your perspective.
It reminds you that love isn’t shallow.
It isn’t decorative.
It isn’t seasonal.
Love is weighty.
It’s eternal.
It’s the most important thing we’re given.
Valentine’s Day is often marketed as lighthearted — but at its core, it’s about something sacred:
Love that shows up.
Love that speaks.
Love that doesn’t wait.
🌸 Why I Still Celebrate
Some people might assume this day would feel too heavy to celebrate.
But I’ve learned something important:
The most beautiful way to honor love is to live it fully.
So I still celebrate.
I hug tighter.
I say the words.
I take the photo.
I don’t brush off the small moments.
Because ordinary days are not guaranteed.
💗 Why Creating Beautiful Things Matters
When I design pieces for Valentine’s Day — whether it’s a twirly dress, a classic skirt, or a timeless collection — I’m not just thinking about a holiday.
I’m thinking about moments.
The dinner around the table.
The church morning.
The cousins laughing.
The picture you almost didn’t take.
Clothing becomes part of memory.
Memory becomes part of legacy.
And when you’ve been reminded how fragile time can be, you realize those details matter more than you thought.
Not because fabric is important —
but because love is.
🌹 If There’s One Thing I’ve Learned
Love the people in front of you.
Say the words.
Be intentional.
Slow down.
Celebrate anyway.
Scripture says, “Love never fails.” — 1 Corinthians 13:8
That verse feels different to me now.
Love doesn’t fail when circumstances don’t make sense.
It doesn’t fail when time feels cut short.
It doesn’t fail when we’re grieving.
It continues.
It carries.
It remains.
Valentine’s Day isn’t just about hearts and roses for me.
It’s a quiet reminder:
Love is the most important thing we have.
And it’s worth expressing while we can.
Valentine’s Day collections may look like fabric and thread on the surface — twirly dresses, classic skirts, soft knits, timeless pieces. But to me, they represent something deeper. They’re created for the dinners, the church mornings, the photos, the little girls who feel beautiful, and the memories that will someday mean more than we realize.
If something we create becomes part of a moment you treasure, that matters.
