Why I Love Spring

waking up before the sun – daises and daffodils – sunny evenings – rain – easter – renewal – fresh – bright colors – spring break – budding trees – flowers – awakening – warmth – rejuvenation – tulips – umbrellas – picnics – laughter – family time – grilling for dinner – blue skies – walks in the park – rest and relaxation

Oh, springtime, how I love thee! From fresh blooms to picnics to anticipated rainfall, I can’t think of very many things I don’t like about Spring. Since it has been warming up in our town, I’ve found myself wanting to pause outside and just soak in the warmth of the sun or take in the refreshing aroma of budding trees and flowers. What a beautiful time of year it is!

However, just as with anything else, I recognize that there may be some that aren’t convinced that Spring is a beautiful thing. With the arrival of the “official” start of Spring right around the corner, I thought I would take a moment and share some of my favorite things about this wonderful time of the year. Maybe it will help any doubters to be excited with me! 😊 After all…

Sunlight

I recognize that Daylight Saving Time is confusing and messes with sleep schedules. However, isn’t it a lovely thing to come home from work, eat dinner with your family (or your cat…), and still be able to enjoy the sunlight? It’s a scientific fact that spending time out in the sun can reduce your stress levels, increase bone health, treat skin conditions, and so much more!

Outdoor Activities

With the arrival of spring comes more visits to the park, picnic days and hiking trips, soon-to-come days spent lounging in a pool – you name it! The warmer weather permits so many activities that just aren’t enjoyable in the wintertime.

Rainfall

Again, this one is controversial and inconvenient. But just think of what life would be like if it never rained! The rainfall leads to one of the best parts of Spring…

Growth

My heart does a little happy dance when I see blooms on the trees or smell the scent of freshly mowed grass. It’s a refreshing thing to replace the lifeless scenery with brilliant springtime colors!

The Resurrection

More than anything, I love Spring because there is a time set aside to celebrate the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Of course, it should be something we thank Him for consistently. However, there’s always something special about those Easter services, when we collectively remember the price He paid for us on Calvary, and most importantly, the hope that we have because He rose again!

What about you – do you love this time of year? If so, what are some of YOUR favorite things about Spring? I’d love to hear from you!

Ciao for now,
